In a significant development, four individuals have been apprehended in connection with the murder of Trinamool Congress leader Razzak Khan in the South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, as reported by police on Monday.
Khan, aged 38, who was a close associate of former Canning MLA Soukat Molla, was shot dead on Thursday night while returning home after attending a party meeting in the Chaltaberia area. He held the position of president of the Chaltaberia unit of the Trinamool Congress.
According to a police official, a suspect named Mofazzal Molla, allegedly linked to the Trinamool Congress, was arrested on Sunday in connection with Khan's murder.
An officer from the North Kashipur police station revealed that during interrogation, Mofazzal disclosed the names of three other suspects, identified as Azharuddin Molla, Jahan Ali Khan, and Raju Molla. These individuals were subsequently arrested late Sunday night during raids conducted in the Bijayganj market and Chak Maricha areas.
